At English Texts + Translations, all assignments are carried out by the company owners themselves. Our strong points are flexibility and direct contact with our clients. We strive to form a strong partnership with each of our clients to provide a perfect service. Our aim is always to prepare precise, creative translations which help our clients to achieve further success.

We, Hans and Jennifer Abplanalp-Hunt both have broad-based background knowledge, stemming from varied experience, know-how and proficiency. This is the foundation stone which makes possible first-class translations within the fields covered.

Following many years of translating on a part-time basis, English Texts + Translations was founded in 1999, immediately flourishing with recommendations from various clients. Please see our list of references. We do not profess to translate anything and everything. We prefer to concentrate on high quality, always bearing in mind the importance of our client's image.


Jennifer: I am English. I hold a diploma in chemistry and have worked in the chemical industry and in a university laboratory. Later, I worked as a professional industrial photographer. Following my move to Switzerland, I taught English at a language school. A move into the tourist industry provided me with many years experience in retail marketing. My journalistic flair and wide general knowledge results from a lifelong passion for the written word.


Hans: I was born in Switzerland and brought up in Great Britain. As a qualified quantity surveyor, I have had
considerable experience in contracts management in the UK and Switzerland. I hold a Licentiateship of the Royal Photographic Society of Great Britain. I also spent some years as marketing manager for a large and successful holiday agency in England's Lake District. My translating abilities combine technical know-how and creative talent.
